Sanitise Sanity / 2022
Solo Exhibition at Art Basel HKAdopting the form of a domestic clothing rack, Santise Sanity is a sculpture intentionally crafted to display sphere-shaped bar soaps—an emblem of our obsession with cleanliness. Infused with the purifying qualities of charcoal and Himalayan salt, these sanitising soaps symbolise the preservation of sanity amidst the chaos of insanity brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic intensified fears of contamination and hygiene, driving many into an overwhelming compulsion for cleanliness as a way to maintain control and sanity in uncertain times.
