Pagoda / 2022
A towering structure, Pagoda
consists of a miniature yellow
beeswax pavilion sitting on a stack
of readymade wood chip pallets—a
delicate combination of contrasting
materials that conjures a sacred
architectural model. The height of
the work entices the viewers to
bend slightly in order to see the
intricate folds and patterns at the
center of the pallets' structure.
Exploring the forms, geometry, and
laws of materials, Tap Chan aims to incite a potential relationship
between the nature and
ritualistic experiences.
