Duplicity / 2022
Solo Exhibition at Art Basel HKTwo botanical trees stand side by side—whether natural or artificially made, both cast dark shadows that reveal their presence. Yet in their shadows, it is impossible to tell which tree is real and which is artificial. This indistinguishability symbolizes the modern world, where technology increasingly blurs the line between the natural and the synthetic. Just as artificial trees mimic nature’s form and function, our digital and technological creations often replicate or replace natural processes, raising questions about authenticity, perception, and the coexistence of reality and artifice in our daily lives
